Rolling Carry-On Bag (See how we use it!)
This is what we use when a carry-on bag is included with our flights. We take the backpack below along with it.
Backpack (used with carry-on)
We take this backpack along with our rolling carry-on for our “personal item” that goes under the seat in front of us.
Backpack (used alone) (See how we use it!)
This is the backpack we take when a carry-on bag is not included with our flights. You’d be surprised at how much it holds!
String Backpack (similar one if unavailable)
This is what I carry with me every day when we are out exploring. I’ve tried other small bags, but I like this because it is so light and feels like I’m carrying nothing at all.
Packing Cubes (Another one I like)
We use these packing cubes in different ways. Sometimes we use them all, and sometimes we just use one. You can see in this post the latest way we prefer.
Toiletry/Make-Up Bag
This is the newest toiletry bag I like. It holds all of my toiletries and make-up and can fold or lie flat in my bag.
Liquids Bag
For liquids, a clear quart-size bag with containers no larger than 3.2 oz each is required to go through airport security. This bag meets those requirements.
Wallet
I love this tiny wallet. I use it every day, even at home. It holds all of my cards, ID, paper money, and coins.

Mesh Bags

Collapsible Liquids Containers

International Travel Adapter
This adapter works in all countries. You can plug in 1 AC, 1 Type C, and 4 USBs at once.
Portable Charger
This has 5 charges on it and can charge two phones at once. It is slim and very portable.
Bluetooth Earbuds
These are my latest favorite earbuds. I like that they charge in the case without being plugged up, and it shows the charge on the side.
Google Fi Wireless SIM card
We use Google Fi Wireless for international phone service. We actually use it all the time because it is cheap, and we never have to change the SIM card when we travel. We just go to the app and change our phone plan to the international plan before we leave the country each time.
Clothing & Accessories
Women
Winter Jacket
This is my favorite winter jacket. It is very light, yet very warm. I wear it on almost all winter trips. With a scarf, gloves, and earmuffs, I don’t need anthing else.
Heavy Winter Coat
This coat is great for very cold locations. I bought it before we went to Germany at Christmas. It is very warm! I can truthfully say I did not get cold at all during that trip. The only downside is that it is a bit more than I’d like to carry on a plane, but when you need it, you need it.
Packable Raincoat
This raincoat goes with me on every trip year-round. It’s a great raincoat and windbreaker, and it folds up into a tiny pack making it easy to take anywhere.
Scarf
This is a very warm scarf. It comes it many colors and patterns, so you can match it to your travel wardrobe easily.
Gloves
These are simple, warm gloves. I have them in cream and black.
Examples of other Travel Clothes I love:
Long-Sleeve Button-Up Shirt
Thin Sweater
Cotton Camisole
Thermal Layer
Dr. Scholls Massaging Gel Insoles
Men
Winter Jacket
Like the women’s puffer jacket above, it is a great lightweight yet warm jacket that is good for almost all winter trips.
Packable Raincoat
This raincoat is great as a raincoat and windbreaker and folds up into a tiny pack. Great to take year-round.
Book A Trip
My favorite places to book attraction tickets, tours, classes, etc:
Viator OR Tiqets OR GetYourGuide
To book hotels, rental cars, transportation, attraction tickets, tours, travel insurance, and more, contact me. I can book anything you need, whether its just a hotel or tickets or tours or a whole trip!
Our Favorite Credit Cards
We use travel credit cards to earn free flights and accommodations. Here are our favorites. You can click on each one to see all of the current bonuses and benefits.
If you use the links below we will earn bonus points for referring you when you apply and are approved. 🙂
Chase Sapphire Reserve
We both have this card. It is our favorite! This is a great card if you travel a lot and eat out a lot. It has a high annual fee, but with the travel credits you get and the extensive list of benefits it is very much worth it for us.
Chase Freedom Unlimited
This card is good for earning more Chase points since it earns 1.5 points per dollar on everything.
Chase Freedom Flex
This card is good for earning more Chase points using their quarterly bonus categories, which earn 5 points per dollar.
Chase Business Cash Ink
This card is good for earning Chase points on internet, cable and phone costs and any purchases at office supply stores.
Chase Southwest Rapid Rewards Performance Business
This card is great if you and a companion (family member or friend) fly often domestically because it can help you earn the Southwest Companion Pass! Only Jay (my husband) has this one. Because he has the Companion Pass I can fly free on any Southwest flight he takes! It is most useful for us, for example, when I book a flight to Europe from a large airport on the East coast of the US, like New York, Boston or Washington DC where overseas flights are much less expensive. We fly on Southwest (cheap or free) to those airports in order to take our overseas flight.
Chase IHG Premier
We got this card for its generous sign-up bonus. We keep it because it earns a free night each year which offsets the annual fee, and it earns higher than normal points per dollar at IHG hotels.
Chase Marriott Bonvoy
We got this card for its generous sign-up bonus. We keep it because it earns a free night each year which offsets the annual fee, and it earns higher than normal points per dollar at Marriott hotels.
Chase World of Hyatt
We got this card for its generous sign-up bonus. We keep it because it earns a free night each year which offsets the annual fee, and it earns higher than normal points per dollar at Hyatt hotels.
*Note! I only recommend using credit cards if they are used responsibly. They should be paid on time and in full each month in order for them to be worth using.
