St Joseph’s Oratory of Mount Royal is an absolute marvel! This magnificent basilica is a sight to behold, with its grand architecture and stunning design. As you enter the basilica, you will be overcome by the beauty and awe-inspiring atmosphere. The crypt below is a place with a peaceful ambience that you should not miss, and the surrounding gardens, perfectly manicured and simply beautiful, are filled with vibrant flowers and lush greenery. It’s the perfect place to take a leisurely stroll and soak in the serenity.

Montreal Biodome and Botanical Garden

Visit the Montreal Biodome and the Botanical Garden. You can explore various ecosystems from around the world, all under one roof. From the lush rainforests to the icy Arctic (shown in photo above), you can experience it all in this unique facility. The Biodome also houses an insectarium, where you can observe and learn about the fascinating world of insects. There is also a planetarium where you can gaze at the stars and learn about the mysteries of the universe.

Montreal has several really cool neighborhoods. The Plateau-Mont-Royal neighborhood is known for its colorful Victorian houses and vibrant street art. It is a paradise for art lovers and photographers. Take a leisurely stroll along the tree-lined streets and discover unique boutiques, cozy cafes, and charming parks. Visit La Fontaine Park, an oasis of natural beauty in the heart of the city. Its lush greenery, stunning lake, and picturesque walking trails make it the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of urban life.

If you’re an adventure seeker, Montreal has plenty to offer. During the winter months, head to Mont Tremblant for some exhilarating skiing and snowboarding. Located just a short drive from the city, this popular resort offers a range of slopes for all skill levels. If you prefer a more low-key winter activity, try ice skating at the Bonsecours Basin in Old Montreal. Glide across the ice while enjoying the stunning views of the city’s skyline.

Au Tarot Restaurant

No trip to Montreal is complete without indulging in the city’s culinary delights. Start your day with a traditional Montreal-style bagel from one of the iconic bagel shops in the Mile End neighborhood. These bagels, baked in a wood- fired oven, are known for their slightly sweet and chewy texture. Pair it with a smear of cream cheese and you’re in for a treat. 

For lunch, satisfy your cravings with a classic poutine. This quintessential Canadian dish consists of crispy french fries topped with cheese curds and smothered in rich gravy. Head to La Banquise, a local institution known for its wide variety of poutine options, and experience this delicious comfort food at its best. 

In the evening, treat yourself to a smoked meat sandwich at Schwartz’s Deli. This iconic Jewish deli has been serving up mouthwatering smoked meat sandwiches since 1928. The tender, flavorful meat piled high on rye bread with mustard is a true Montreal delicacy that you won’t want to miss.

Our favorite meal in Montreal was at Au Tarot, pictured above! It’s a mix of Mediterranean, Algerian, Moroccan, and Middle Eastern cuisines. Everything is sharable. It was very unique, and it was all delicious!

Best Times To Visit

Summer in Montreal (Place d’Armes)

Montreal is a city that offers something for every season. If you’re looking to experience winter activities and enjoy the city covered in snow, visit between December and February. The crisp air and festive atmosphere make it the perfect time to hit the slopes or go ice skating. 

For those who prefer milder temperatures, spring and fall are the ideal seasons to visit. The city comes alive with blooming flowers and vibrant fall foliage, creating a picturesque backdrop for exploring the streets and parks. 

If you’re a fan of festivals and events, summer is the best time to visit Montreal. From the International Jazz Festival to the Just for Laughs Comedy Festival, the city hosts a wide range of cultural events that showcase its vibrant arts scene.
